At 22 Emma Egan has made the journey from Gippsland in Victoria to the town of Penguin in North Western Tasmania to embark on a Future Livestock Consulting Internship with consulting business, RMCG. The chance to accelerate her career in agriculture comes via the MLA Donor Company and is designed to assist livestock consulting businesses in taking on new employees. ​

Call for Future Leaders of the Australian grape and wine sector

Future Leaders is a professional and personal development program that creates a network of confident, committed individuals who will “be next” and contribute to the future success of the Australian wine community.

The Australian grape and wine sector contributes more than $40 billion to our national economy through exports, tourism and employment, particularly in our regional areas.

Assistant Minister for Agriculture and Water Resources and South Australian Senator Anne Ruston is encouraging the rising stars of Australian grape and wine to apply for the grape and wine sector’s professional leadership and development program - Future Leaders.

The program is tailored to assist the grape and wine sector build skills in innovative thinking, commercial acuity, collaboration and leadership.

Global and domestic wine markets will always be highly competitive. Future Leaders means the next generation will have the knowledge to capture opportunities created by improved market access and a greater awareness of Australia’s premium wines.

This year’s Future Leaders program will explore new avenues in business, marketing and governance, and will also look at how global economics will shape the future.

Applications are open to all people in the grape and wine sector, including winemakers, grapegrowers, export managers and researchers.
