Valuable ideas often stem from the younger generation who work and study in the sector, which is why the  Innovation Awards are so important for progress in the sector.

Australia’s next generation of ag professionals and researchers are encouraged to bring to the table their innovative agricultural research projects for an opportunity to score a part of the $242,000 grant to execute their ideas.

Barnaby Joyce, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Agriculture and Water resources, announced the Awards by inviting young adults from 18 to 35 years old to bring foward new and innovative research projects that facilitate solutions to the issues that have been bothering the sector and seize on their potential.

He affirmed that Australia is a global leader in agricultural innovation and backing new ideas has enabled the Australian Agricultural sector to improve in terms of competency, efficiency, and profitability as well as to pass development obstacles.

A great deal of these ideas originate from the minds of young people who study or work on the sector and these Awards will help them jumpstart their path to research, innovation and solution finding for tackling Agricultural problems.

The entries can be submitted by 13th of October 2017. The award winners will appear in public as a unit of the ABARES Outlook conference to be held in Canberra.
