Cultivating Hometown Careers in Agriculture

12/7/2017

There are many examples that demonstrate that hard work can result in great things. Leeton's Madison Coelli is one such example of what dedication can lead to.

Miss Coelli has been awarded as the Trainee of the year at the NSW Training Award ceremony.

Throughout her short but impressive working history, she has established herself as someone credible within the agriculture field.

Madison initially started after graduating from Southern Cotton school as a trainee and expanded her knowledge further by obtaining a key position at Webster LTD as a logistics and trade coordinator.  Her work didn’t left others  unimpressed as she was awarded in a gala ceremony in Wagga.

Madison has revealed that this has been a great experience for her and that she initially pursued the trainee position as her first career step in the field but she soon realised that engaging with logistics has won her over.

She further added that throughout the course of her traineeship in Southern Cotton has improved her knowledge of the agriculture industry as well as regional career opportunities and has motivated her to chase a career in the logistics field in a broader perspective.  She elaborated that this was a fully motivating experience which enables young individuals to obtain valuable skills and experience as well as expand their knowledge of the field.

She also stated her devotion and commitment to nurture the next crop of agriculture experts.

It is noteworthy to mention that when she finished school, she wasn’t sure which path to pursue. Working in the agriculture field was something she never considered, but she was attracted to the variation and growth of a field that allowed further development of her knowledge.

Her success is a primary example for young individuals who want to chase a viable career path without leaving their home town.

Madison finds daily challenges that arise in her work fun, and she is willing to take the challenge to overcome them and deliver the client with a high level product.

After her initial nomination and interview with the panel, hearing her name and receiving the award was a great surprise for Madison, she felt proud to be called the trainee of the year for the Riverina area.

Madison added that she would feel fulfilled and successful if she inspired even one individual to realise the training and opportunities that are available regionally.
