Littleproud promotes better deal for farmers
3/1/2019<p>AUSTRALIAN farmers exporting overseas will be better off as tariffs have been slashed or abolished.</p> <p>Minister for Agriculture, David Littleproud said the good news for our farmers comes as changes are made under the Trans Pacific Partnership and the China-Australia Free Trade Agreement (ChAFTA).</p> <p>"Tariffs on our farm produce going into China will be largely eliminated on January 1,” he said.</p> <p>The changes to the tariffs means our farmers who export goods to China will become more competitive.</p> <p>"Key exports including wine, most fruit and vegetables, seafood and some dairy will no longer cop a tariff in China,” Mr Littleproud said.</p> <p>"Which means our produce will be more affordable for Chinese consumers.”</p> <p>ChAFTA has contributed to significant growth in exports over the last 12 months.<br /><br /><strong><a href="https://www.southburnetttimes.com.au/news/littleproud-promotes-better-deal-for-our-farmers/3612190/" target="_blank">Read the full article online at the South Burnett Times website</a></strong></p>
