A joint funding deal to continue with the grains research and expansion program between the Federal and State governments has been approved.

The Grains Research and development Corporation as well as the Victorian Government have reopened a 5 year grain research deal valued at $52 million.

Barnaby Joyce, Federal Agriculture minister and his Victorian equivalent Jaala Pulford will soon publish their jointly financed bilateral deal in Melbourne press today.

The GRDC is a an enacted company sponsored by statutory grower taxes and corresponding to the Federal Government.

Mr Joyce has commented that this $10M plus per annum deal will concentrate on yielding practical results that set the base of the future abundance of the grain produce in Victoria region.

Programs supported by this deal feature a graduate agronomy plan lasting 18 months and performed by Agriculture Victoria organisation--the program has recently grown to involve 5 members (as opposed to three), technology renovations at the Grains Innovation Park located in Geneback and pulse pre-growing program for finding better adjusted kinds of crop.
